Zoo Day

Our Memorial Day tradition is going to Utah's Hogle Zoo. I love this tradition and look forward to it every year.
Here is Abbie showing off her cute zoo outfit. I love her sandals!

Unfortunately, the weather wasn't very cooperative. It started pouring a few minutes after we got there. Good thing we brought our winter coats!

The elephants are my favorite

Yep, we even got to see some dinosaurs

Abbie was so fun and very good even though she missed  her nap

I think the giraffes were her favorite

Grandma gave us each $5 to buy a souvenir. This is Snake (pronounced "Snacky") the Snake, Brandon's awesome slap band. Abbie got a cute binky with a tiger on it and I got a bookmark.

I love the zoo and can't wait to go next year!

Hair Eater

This girl loves to eat things, and lately has enjoyed grabbing hair- usually mine but as you can see any hair will do :)

Such a cutie! However last week we learned that she is not so cute when watching movies. Since she was born we have gone to a few movies at the theater and she has been so good. However when we went last weekend she was wide awake and not content to sit and watch the movie. We spent some time walking around to try to keep her calm. I ended up sitting in the aisle while she layed on her blanket on the ground to play. She is officially uninvited to go to movies.

This funny girl is also a mover!
She started like this...
...and ended up like this!
Abbie had her first cold this past week. I'd say that's pretty good because we are not super cautious about our cleanliness around her. I will admit I have dropped her binky on the floor and then put back in her mouth. Don't judge! :) She's feeling better now, however, she has passed it on to me!

I was also able to go to the dentist this week to fix a couple of cavities. Yay, only because I lose medicaid after this month and it will probably be awhile before we have dental insurance.

Rolling

That's right Abbie rolled over for the first time last Saturday! We were not expecting it. We put her down on the ground and she just rolled right over to her tummy. We were all kind of in shock. Funny thing is, she hasn't done it again since. She has gotten close and is very good at going from side to back and back to side but never quite makes it all the way over. Also, I heard that babies should roll from tummy to back first. I guess Abbie is special :)

I love this bumbo (or bumby according to Brandon)

My two cute pirates

She loves putting things in her mouth. Anyone want to try a bite of pink, silky dress?
side note: Sunday during the closing sacrament hymn, Brandon was looking at Abbie while he was singing, and she must have thought that he was talking to her so she started singing back. It was so funny and super cute!

Playing with daddy. She was happy, though you can't really tell from the picture.

A week in Draper

Well, we're back! This past week (Sat-Thurs) we house sat/ baby sat my cousins Zach, Becca, and Catelyn.
It was a great experience, but now I see why you only have one kid at a time. I have been thinking that Abbie is growing up so fast and I don't like it, but now after playing with the cute little girls I am actually excited to see Abbie as she keeps growing. Because I was more busy I didn't take as many picture as I normally do.

Packing. Abbie's suitcase was more full than ours.

We took Abbie's swing with us. The girls loved pushing Abbie in it, and loved pushing their dolls in it when Abbie wasn't in it.

Becca and Catelyn both loved Abbie. Becca would ask to hold her all the time.

While we were there Brandon didn't work very much, so he got to see what it was like to take care of Abbie all day

Their sinks were pretty small and we didn't take her bathtub. It was a lot harder to give her the bath and she didn't like it as much.

Cute outfit on a cute girl :)

Playing video games while the kids were at school and Catelyn was napping

This is Abbie watching Brandon play video games. She LOVES watching the TV.
(she also loves watching me run on the treadmill)

I love my girl!

It was fun to live closer to family for a week. It was also nice to have a big place for people to visit.

So cute! Abbie was actually grabbing the toys.

We spend a lot of time together, and I am so glad!

It's good to be home now, but I am glad we were able to help out for a few days. The kids were so good and we had fun.

Abbie loves sitting up. She is so funny, she is not content to lay in my arms unless she is eating or sleeping.

So, we got her a Bumbo chair.

I think she likes it, but not for long periods of time.

Abbie also tried her first slurpee. I love slurpees and so I thought she should get used to them. Unfortunately, she did not like it :(

All that craziness in one week!

Tulip Festival

I am finally getting around to posting pictures from last week when we went to the Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival. We took a picnic and spent the afternoon. Even Abbie liked looking at the flowers part of the time. We had a great time, except for the sunburns all 3 of us got.

a day downtown

Today we went up to Salt Lake to spend the day with my mom because she took the day off work. We went  downtown and walked around Temple Square, went and watched the new Joseph Smith movie, ate lunch at the Blue Lemon, and went to Deseret Book.  Abbie enjoyed the little bit that she was awake. I don't think she was feeling super great because of her shots yesterday.

It was a fun day. Thanks mom!
