playtime and pumpkins

We've had some fun lately.
Thursday is story/music/craft time at the library. We usually go with our friends Cristinah and Adriana. Then we went to their house for lunch and playtime.

Friday night we went to Amber and Eli's ward trunk-or-treat. Abbie was super cute in her costume and loved getting lots of candy.

During 'Super Saturday' (Relief Society activity), Adriana and Arthur came over to hangout out/play with Abbie and Brandon. It's cute when Adriana and Abbie play together - mostly it's side-by-side play,  but they will usually be close to each other. Abbie calls her 'Ana'.

Saturday evening we went to a pumpkin patch for the first time ever. It was pretty cool. Abbie had fun riding in the wheelbarrow and looking at all the pumpkins.

Scarecrow Festival

Last Saturday we went to the scarecrow festival. All the activities were free! It was totally awesome.

Adventure Thursday

There was no school on Thursday because of the UEA break. So we spent the day with grandma, grandpa and the aunts. (After we got our car fixed- hopefully for good this time.)

During the day we went to Gardener Village witch fest. We walked around and looked at a few shops and  all the decorations. It was super crowded but we still had fun.

In the evening we met back up again and went to Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point (with coupons). It was a little chilly, but not too bad. We had so much fun with all the activities that we didn't even have time to try out the corn maze.

I seriously LOVE the holidays and all the fun activities and traditions that come with them!

line-up

Abbie loves playing with her shoes. She will go and find them- some on the changing table which she can sort of climb up and some in the box of things that are getting too small. Lately, this has been happening at least once a day. She will also take turns trying them, and she has gotten to be a pro at actually putting them on (usually on the wrong foot). She is a total girl :)

official

On Tuesday we attended the ceremony where Brandon took 'the oath' to practice as an official lawyer.  Thanks to our awesome parents for coming to support.

highlights from the past week

Last friday night Brandon and I met up with some friends at the BYU football game. It was fun for awhile but then it got cold and late, so we left a few minutes early.
Saturday morning I went to Paul Mitchell to be a model for Amber- she dyed my hair. I love the way it turned out. It ended up taking a good part of the day, but I am happy with the color and the free cut that I got. And I was able to listen to the morning session of conference on my phone. Speaking of which, Heather is now planning on putting in her papers to go on a mission- she turns 19 in January. Saturday night, Brandon went to the conference center with his dad and brothers to watch priesthood meeting, while Abbie and I went and hung out with my mom and sisters.
Sunday we went to my family's house to watch conference. It was great as usual. Then Amanda went home with us to sleep over because she was out of school.
Monday Abbie and Amanda played at a bounce house that we found groupons for. They had a lot of fun.
Wednesday we went to watch the Cyprus Homecoming parade. Travis and Jayden were in it and we got a ton of candy.
Yesterday, Abbie and I went to see my mom and went to lunch. After we ate, my car would not start up. My grandpa was awesome and spent a good part of the afternoon helping me to get it to work. Eventually it started up- we think the battery just needed to be cleaned and hooked on tighter. Whatever, I am just glad that it works again.
Today, Abbie and I met up with grandma and grandpa and 'Ninny' (Syd) at the mall for lunch, shopping, and playing outside in the rain.

switch to cloth

A week ago we jumped on board the cloth diapering trend. I bought 12 diapers from just simply baby. The patterns are all super cute, and they are really well designed. We've had fewer leaky diapers. In the long run they will be cheaper. So, far I really like them and would recommend them.
I also rigged up a diaper sprayer that hooks to the toilet using this tutorial.  Changing the diapers hasn't been gross as long as I use the sprayer, put them in the wet bag to avoid smell, and wash regularly.
Abbie loves her new diapers. She loves choosing which one to wear and often goes to the cupboard to look at them. She calls them her "die-poohs"

Did I mention that they are super cute?!

check-up

I finally took Abbie to her 18 month check up today.
Current stats:  Height- 35 in (100+ %ile), Weight- 25.5 lbs (70 %ile)
She is growing and developing fantastically!
She of course cried anytime they touched her or looked at her. At least she got 2 'pretties' out of it (bandaids for the vaccines).

Haha, playing in the bathtub (clothes on and no water. weird?) with her best pals. She insists that all of them must accompany her to bed and around the house.
