Well, Abbie is not here yet! And I am getting miserable. So, I have decided that maybe playing a guessing game will help bring her here faster.

So here are the rules:
1. Post your guess for date and time as well as weight and height in the comments- be sure to include your name
2. The person closest on the date wins a prize (which may or may not have any value besides bragging rights) with the time as the tie-breaker
3. Same goes for weight with height as the tie-breaker
4. When guessing the time you have to be at least 2 hours off from any other previously posted guesses of the same date
5. You can post anytime up until I am admitted to the hospital- procrastinate at your own risk!

Sympathetic Pregnancy

Today marks Abbie's original due date. But she hasn't come yet, so I guess they were right to change it to March 1. Any day now though...right?

I remember hearing, long before Christy got pregnant, about dads who ended up experiencing some of the signs of pregnancy with their wives (i.e. morning sickness, food cravings, etc.). I probably thought that was a cool thing for dads to do (as if men can actually come even close to the discomfort and pain of childbirth!).

Fortunately, I can't say I have experienced much of the downside of this pregnancy. But I have had more than my share - particularly not being able to sleep. It's like my body is trying to get ready for Abbie to disrupt my sleep schedule (as she is already doing to Christy in a very direct way). If I ever get more than 4 hours of continuous sleep, it's a miracle! And if I come anywhere close to that mark, it's a good night. Any appreciation I may have had for men experiencing a sympathetic pregnancy is gone. This is far more a PATHETIC pregnancy.

One of my worst fears about being a father is losing sleep. And since I'm already living that nightmare, can I at least have my daughter? Any day now...

I figure its about time for an update.
December:
I graduated and Brandon finished his 3rd semester in law school- officially half way done. Yay! Christmas break was great. We spent lots of time with family, ate lots of yummy food, played lots of fun games, and spent lots of time being lazy- well I did at least :) We also had a great Christmas- we mostly got stuff for Abbie (more about that later)- and of course I didn't take any pictures. I am sure that will change when Abbie comes!

January:
Brandon started school again, and turned in his huge 'thesis' paper- so glad that's done! He also is now on the Law Review Journal board as some kind of editor. So, he has been pretty busy lately. It's been kind of hard for me with him gone all the time because now that I am done with school I am home a lot and get bored easily. I am substituting at my mom's school, which has been great, but its not a regular schedule- usually only about 2 days a week. So, I have tried to be better about keeping the house clean- although looking at it right now, I would say that I am failing. I also try to find little projects to keep me busy. My first project was putting together Abbie's room. Here are some pictures: (sorry the lighting is really weird)

Ok, back to the update. Oh, I am actually going grocery shopping making meals again- which Brandon is really happy about :) I have also been reading, doing lots of puzzles, walking on the treadmill, and going to the Temple more.
One huge draw back about this whole pregnancy thing is the lack of sleep I am getting, simply because I can't get comfortable and I toss and turn all night. Oh and the fact that I have to get up like 10 times to go to the bathroom. Basically I am just really anxious and kind of getting impatient for her to come. Unfortunately I still have 5 more weeks- which feels like forever! Oh and here is a picture at 35 weeks- today:

Abbie Therese Crowther

The title makes it seem like she's already born, so I apologize if it misled anybody. Nevertheless, our daughter can now be born because her indecisive parents finally decided on a name for her. And I am 99% sure that we are sticking with it. A few things to note:

1) Her name will in fact be Abbie, not Abigail.

2) Therese is pronounced "Teresa." It is Christy's middle name and a well-used family name. But I still have no idea why it is spelled the way it is.

I'm pretty sure this blog will become a whole lot more interesting once Abbie makes her debut sometime in March (due date: March 1st). For one thing, we will actually have something interesting to blog about (and interesting videos to post). For another, our sleep deprivation will probably make for some fun times and poor grammar. And who doesn't like to laugh at other people's grammar? :)

It's official!

Yep, I am now a college graduate! I finished my student teaching last friday. I was sad to leave my kids but so happy to finally be done.
I've decided that I am going to do some substitute teaching until the baby comes, hopefully that will keep me busy. I had my first job today. It's nice to be able to make some money again.

Anyway, I just wanted to share my happy news.
And only 77 days til our little girl, that doesn't have a name yet, comes!!!

Day of thanks!

Since my accident Monday, I have felt a lot of gratitude for all the many blessings in my life. I feel truly blessed that I walked away from the accident with only a few scratches, and even more grateful that the baby is totally fine!
I am so grateful for my amazing husband who will do almost anything for me!
I am thankful for all my family. They make me happy and do so much for us.
I am so, so thankful for the Savior and His sacrifice for me. I am also grateful to know that He is a part of my life and is always there to comfort and protect me.
I am grateful to have had the opportunity to attend BYU and get a college degree. It has been long and hard, but I know that it will always be a blessing in my life.
I am grateful to have so many conveniences such as a car (well hopefully soon), cell phone, tv, refrigerator, warm clothes, blankets, good books to read, etc...
There are so many other things that I am thankful for, but we'll save that post for another day :)
