ONE YEAR OLD!

Happy Birthday to my sweet Abbie. She has been a part of our family for 1 whole year, and it's been great!

We started out this special day with a yummy breakfast of eggs and a waffle. Waffles are a pretty typical breakfast for her now that she eats only normal food- meaning no more baby food! She also is completely on whole milk and has been for a couple of weeks (Yay, I love being done with pumping!!!). And no more bottles, only sippy cups. Wow this sure make her seem like a big girl, not a baby.

Then she opened her presents, not that she needed any more :)  She's gotten that unwrapping thing down pretty well.

Then we got dressed and she played with her new toys for a little bit, until daddy went to school, and Isaac came over.

The day went on as normal. She played for a bit and then took a short nap. She hasn't been sleeping as well as she used to. Now even though she is tired, she will usually cry for a bit when I put her down for a nap. And they haven't been as long, which I would be ok with but by the evening she gets really crabby. Then we did some more playing. Abbie especially liked playing with the cute birthday decorations.

For lunch we had yummy mac-n-cheese and vegetables. I should mention that she takes forever to eat, like 45 minutes. It probably doesn't help that she still has only 4 teeth. It is nice though because I can do the dishes or something else without her running around or wanting me to hold her.

After Isaac left, we went to Insta-care because I've had an earache, which turns out to be an ear infection (weird because I haven't had one since I was probably 12). Then we went to the grocery store, nothing exciting there. We came home and played for a bit until daddy called and we went and picked him up and headed over to McDonald's for dinner. Abbie got her first kids meal. She ate pretty much the whole thing- funny because I think those are meant to fill up older kids, not 1 year olds. Anyway she thoroughly enjoyed it.

Did you notice how she got the dipping thing figured out by the end. She  learns so many new things all the time.  She has also just recently started shaking her head no, except that it doesn't always mean no. It's still super cute though.

After she finally finished eating, and got cleaned up, we headed to the playground. It took her awhile to figure out how to climb up, but she did it. She loved all the kids, even though they were running circles around her. I had a hard time getting her out of there to leave.

When we got home, we headed to the bathtub. And, she now likes it because of the awesome bath toys we got her for her birthday. Yay, I'm glad I don't have to fight her on it anymore, and it's fun to watch her play and splash.

Yay, for a great day! We sure do love this girl, and can't wait for all the exciting things that will happen this coming year.

Some other things about her that I want to remember:
* She says mama, dada, thankyou, hi, and tries to mimic a lot of the words we say
* She understands a lot of what we say. It I tell her to go get a certain toy or do something, she often will.
*She is practically running
*She loves being outside. Anytime the door opens she makes a run for it.
*She loves to play with her daddy- still very much a daddy's girl. Although lately she has been more clingy to me during the day. She will come sit on my lap sometimes and often wants me to hold her or play with her.
* She still loves her stuffed animals, and has certain ones she likes to sleep with.
* She is done with binkys. Not because we made her, she did it on her own.
* She is pretty good at sharing, although she usually wants whatever she shared back after a few seconds :)
* She loves to people watch-especially bigger kids.
