Brandon turned 26 yesterday! We had a party with each of our families last weekend. Yesterday we celebrated by going to The Hunger Games. Loved it! Seriously so good. I love when movies stay true to the book.
Brandon is such a good guy and I feel so blessed to be his wife!
We finally made it to the doctor today. We've been putting it off hoping that we could get Abbie some new insurance since medicaid dropped us this month. Unfortunately its a slow process, so we decided to just go ahead and take her and pay for it. As usual it was not her favorite place to be. She is growing and developing great.
Here are her stats:
weight: 21 lbs 14 oz (75th percentile)
height: 31.5 in (98th percentile)
head circumference: 17.5 in (33rd percentile)
She has lost a little bit of weight since her 9 month appointment, but the doctor wasn't worried because she is still in the higher percentage and she attributes it to Abbie being a little more picky with her food now.
After we were done we headed over to the health department to get her immunizations done because I thought it would be cheaper there (in actuality they would have cost about the same either place, I just ended up taking an extra trip). Surprise, it was not fun. She got 5 different shots- her poor arms and legs must be sore. Thankfully she quickly turned back into her happy self.
Notice in the picture above her battle wounds from the cement. She was trying to go down the 2 steps by our apartment and face planted. I'm just glad those scrapes are the worst of it.
Wow, time sure is flying. By the time I think about posting again, another week has passed. It's crazy to think that graduation is in one month! That means that I can only claim Provo as my home for one more month! Not that I am complaining I just can't believe this chapter in our lives is almost over.
So, we have a few boxes lying around as we start to pack stuff up. Did you know that boxes are REALLY fun to play with?
The climbing never stops, she just gets better at it.
If you can't tell she is laying between the couch and the chair.

Abbie is always interested when Brandon is playing video games. She has no chance at not liking them. Check out her serious face :)
Last night we took down our entertainment center, and threw it in the dumpster. Yay. I seriously was just waiting for the day that it would collapse. Thankfully we got rid of it before that happened. I think Abbie prefers the tv on the ground anyway :)
Mom, I thought you would appreciate this. Abbie loves her blanket. So much so that it got the privilege of eating breakfast with her today. It's funny now that she has preferences on which toys, etc. she likes best.
Well, I can't think of anything else, so there you go. I hope you enjoyed our random happenings.
Abbie got a new toy box from the money she got for her birthday. Yay, now most of her toys have a place to go (at least when she is asleep, otherwise the toys are usually all over the place- refer to next picture).
Abbie's first experience coloring
We have loved the nice weather the last few days. I sure hope that it only gets better from here.
One of the many times a day she spends in her highchair eating :)
We had soup for dinner and this was the solution that Abbie came up with to make sure not one drop was wasted :)
Always exploring and finding new places to climb, play, and pull things out of. This is only one of the many pictures I could have put here.
Finally done with this. I got the backgrounds from here, so all I had to do was add the pictures. Then I printed them (4x6), put them in photo albums and then covered the albums with material. I love them and I think they will be great for church!
Also this week we have been listening to the primary children's songs. I have found that this helps the Spirit to be in our home and we are happy when we listen. Along with this I have been trying to have the tv on less- so far so good.
Oh, and last but not least... only 38 days til Brandon graduates. Which means that we will be moving in about 40ish days. So, we have started moving things already to our new place at Brandon's parents' basement. Yay! Unfortunately still no job lined up. We know that things will work out, but sooner rather than later would be great.
Happy Birthday to my sweet Abbie. She has been a part of our family for 1 whole year, and it's been great!
We started out this special day with a yummy breakfast of eggs and a waffle. Waffles are a pretty typical breakfast for her now that she eats only normal food- meaning no more baby food! She also is completely on whole milk and has been for a couple of weeks (Yay, I love being done with pumping!!!). And no more bottles, only sippy cups. Wow this sure make her seem like a big girl, not a baby.
Then she opened her presents, not that she needed any more :) She's gotten that unwrapping thing down pretty well.
Then we got dressed and she played with her new toys for a little bit, until daddy went to school, and Isaac came over.
The day went on as normal. She played for a bit and then took a short nap. She hasn't been sleeping as well as she used to. Now even though she is tired, she will usually cry for a bit when I put her down for a nap. And they haven't been as long, which I would be ok with but by the evening she gets really crabby. Then we did some more playing. Abbie especially liked playing with the cute birthday decorations.
For lunch we had yummy mac-n-cheese and vegetables. I should mention that she takes forever to eat, like 45 minutes. It probably doesn't help that she still has only 4 teeth. It is nice though because I can do the dishes or something else without her running around or wanting me to hold her.
After Isaac left, we went to Insta-care because I've had an earache, which turns out to be an ear infection (weird because I haven't had one since I was probably 12). Then we went to the grocery store, nothing exciting there. We came home and played for a bit until daddy called and we went and picked him up and headed over to McDonald's for dinner. Abbie got her first kids meal. She ate pretty much the whole thing- funny because I think those are meant to fill up older kids, not 1 year olds. Anyway she thoroughly enjoyed it.
Did you notice how she got the dipping thing figured out by the end. She learns so many new things all the time. She has also just recently started shaking her head no, except that it doesn't always mean no. It's still super cute though.
After she finally finished eating, and got cleaned up, we headed to the playground. It took her awhile to figure out how to climb up, but she did it. She loved all the kids, even though they were running circles around her. I had a hard time getting her out of there to leave.
When we got home, we headed to the bathtub. And, she now likes it because of the awesome bath toys we got her for her birthday. Yay, I'm glad I don't have to fight her on it anymore, and it's fun to watch her play and splash.
Yay, for a great day! We sure do love this girl, and can't wait for all the exciting things that will happen this coming year.
Some other things about her that I want to remember:
* She says mama, dada, thankyou, hi, and tries to mimic a lot of the words we say
* She understands a lot of what we say. It I tell her to go get a certain toy or do something, she often will.
*She is practically running
*She loves being outside. Anytime the door opens she makes a run for it.
*She loves to play with her daddy- still very much a daddy's girl. Although lately she has been more clingy to me during the day. She will come sit on my lap sometimes and often wants me to hold her or play with her.
* She still loves her stuffed animals, and has certain ones she likes to sleep with.
* She is done with binkys. Not because we made her, she did it on her own.
* She is pretty good at sharing, although she usually wants whatever she shared back after a few seconds :)
* She loves to people watch-especially bigger kids.
We had a family party last Saturday for Abbie's 1st birthday. Thanks everyone for coming and celebrating this special girl with us.
We had a pinata. It didn't take long to bust that thing open. Abbie enjoyed finding some candy on the floor that came out of its package.
Abbie had lots of presents to open. She got some really fun stuff. She sure is a spoiled little girl :) Which really means she is very loved!
We played 'Abbie Bingo'- all the things on the card were about Abbie :)
We had yummy chicken tacos for lunch. Abbie of course enjoyed every bite.
The best part of the party... the Cake! It was seriously so fun to watch her eat her very own cake. She was even nice enough to share with some lucky people. (ps. notice her squatting in these pics- she does this all the time)
And because the pictures don't do it justice, enjoy watching this video of 2 different clips of the cake eating.
