Abbie has been looking forward to her birthday for quite awhile. Although I don't think she really understood what a birthday was. Anytime someone would ask her how old she is, she would excitedly say "Almost 2. Birthday coming."
We started off the celebrations last night by taking her to the Disney on Ice princess show. She really liked seeing the princesses and watching them 'dance'. Although it was quite long, she was pretty good throughout it with the help of a slushie in a cool princess cup.
Abbie's birthday breakfast this morning.
We quickly got ready and headed to Target to get her birthday pictures taken. Thank goodness for the balloons and new 'pretty' (blanket) from grandma Ellie. They were very helpful in making it so that she wasn't too sad/scared. Luckily after a few practice shots we were able to get some great pictures.
This is one of my favorites.
We had lunch with Great Grandma and Grandpa and then they let Abbie pick out her present. She was so insistent on a big box of play-doh.
After nap time we had dinner upstairs with the Crowthers and then Abbie got to open up her presents from mommy and daddy.
Then we went to Hollywood Connections (free with our pass of all passes). We rode 1 ride, which Abbie did not like and then played mini-golf, or at least tried to. Abbie became the ball collector and holder, and it was really cute to watch.
We ended the night with kiddie ice cream cones at Arctic Circle. (You can't not have ice cream on your birthday). When we were ordering, Abbie asked for some juice, so we got some and it was gone within a minute. I guess she was thirsty. She really is so funny.
After the ice cream cone, she had a bunch of energy, so as we were getting her ready for bed, she played with her birthday balloons and gave us some entertainment.
We had a great day and are so grateful that she came into our lives 2 years ago!
