Last Saturday we were finally able to use the groupon Brandon got for his birthday. We went to the MAX zipline up Provo Canyon. After getting geared up, we rode in a jeep up the mountain to the first platform. We then went on 5 different ziplines down to the bottom. It was a total blast!
(Apparently I am terrible at holding the camera still)
After this experience, I have decided that someday I want to go do a zipline in a jungle in Mexico :)
Yay for the free tickets we won on the radio! We had been planning on going Thursday night because that is the night that our special tickets were for. A couple of hours before, as we were driving in the car, Abbie threw up :( Of course I didn't know this until we got to Jiffy Lube and had already handed over the keys and everything. So we went inside to the bathroom and I stripped her down to a diaper and cleaned her up. When we got home I gave her some tylenol and had the pleasure of cleaning up the very bad smelling and looking car seat. So then we weren't sure if we should go or not. Eventually we decided to go because the tylenol seemed to help her feel better.
It was our first time going and it was pretty cool. There were lots of booths selling art (of course), and lots of entertainment. We also got some complimentary dinner with our awesome radio tickets.
Yesterday morning, I noticed that there was too much quiet. So, I went to the kitchen and found that Abbie had climbed up to the kitchen table and was eating cherries. It was too funny! She was just enjoying her morning snack. I don't blame her they sure were yummy. We got them fresh off grandma Smith's cherry tree.
About a month ago, Brandon and a couple of his brothers won $150 through a radio contest. It was their first time trying. I don't know how they got through, but it was pretty awesome. Since then we have become almost obsessively interested in trying to win things off the radio. We (Travis, Brandon, and I) even started a blog about all the current radio contests going on in Salt Lake City. We will pretty much try for anything :)
So, last weekend after lots of experimenting, we won $100,and some utah arts festival tickets. Yay, we are getting pretty good at it and it is actually pretty fun. So, if you want to try your hand at it, this may help :)
Yay, I got a car! We found it on KSL after looking for many long days. We had to fix up a couple of things, but now its as good as new (at least it is to me). I love it!
Can you believe how big she is? She sure is growing fast. Almost every day she learns a new word or meaning of a word. Some newer phrases are: pee-peek (peek-a-boo), no, gama (grandma), mi-mil (milk), dee-do (thank you), jesa (jesus), eye, no (nose), ba-ba (daddy back ride), mau (kitty says meow), abba (when she points to her picture), be-be (baby)
Recently she has started to play with baby dolls and barbies. She will feed them, put them in a blanket, and kiss and love them. It's super cute. She also does this with stuffed animals.
She is a pretty good sleeper. When its night time or nap time I will ask her if she wants to go night-night, and she will usually say nigh-night and go get her blanket or go to the door.
This past week she has started folding her arms when we say it's time to pray. And she will say something close to amen and put up her arms when we say amen. It's really cute. Also when we ask her where Jesus is she will point to His picture and sometimes say 'Jesa'.
Have I mentioned before that she has an obsession with milk? Well, she does. We can't even say the word or else she starts to throw a tantrum. Sometimes at meals she will gulp down her milk and then won't eat any food, she only wants milk. She also likes sweets- sometimes they win out to milk. Her favorite foods are hot dogs, strawberries, cheese, noodles, and chicken nuggets.
She is finally starting to like books more. We are actually able to read a page here and there. And sometimes she will actually bring a book to me that we look at. Yay, I really hope she will be a reader.
She loves to be outside and run around. Actually she just loves to run around. She is seriously crazy. I can't believe she has so much energy. No wonder she isn't gaining any weight. She is wearing the same size clothes she was wearing at Christmas time (12-18 mo).
She has such a cute, fun personality. Her laughing and giggling is super cute. Oh, and she is very ticklish.
Even though she wears me out, I sure do love spending time with her.
Dallin graduated from Cyprus High School last Thursday. Afterwards the rest of the family came over and we celebrated with pizza and playing mafia.
Heather graduated from Brighton High School on Tuesday. Abbie was so good during the ceremony because she found a couple of cute little girls, who sat right in front of us, to play with. Afterwards we had a little open house party for friends and family.
As exciting as graduating is, I am glad that it will be a couple of more years before we sit through another graduation ceremony. :)
In our family when you think of Memorial Day you think of the zoo. They will forever be connected. I've always loved going, but it is so much more fun now that Abbie enjoys it too.
I love the elephants. The baby elephant kept playing in the water, it was so fun to watch.
Abbie got to go on the merry-go-round. She was so excited and couldn't get on there fast enough.
Unfortunately once it started moving, she hated it. So much so that she practically jumped off the bear into my arms. She didn't mind going around if I was holding her.
Abbie loved all the ''kitties". She would say hi and bye-bye to them, it was so cute!
Abbie thought this was pretty cool.
Abbie loved the train. I was a little worried after the merry-go-round incident, but she was totally fine to sit by herself on the bench. She probably could have ridden it all day.
So sad we missed the polar bear/new sea shore exhibit (because it opened a couple of days later), but can't wait to see it next year.
About a week and a half ago Janessa went through the Jordan River Temple to receive her endowment. My mom and I got to be her escorts. It was really cool to be right there with her all the way through.
Afterwards we went to Leatherby's to celebrate with ice cream. The younger girls and Abbie also met up with us there. She sure loved the ice cream, in case you couldn't tell :)
